Arnold airbrushed Maria Shriver out of his California Governor’s portrait

NBC Bay Area – There could be much more to the Governator’s official portrait than meets the eye, according to multiple reports.

An obvious blotch on former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s recently unveiled portrait might be the result of a hurried cover-up job to scrub his ex-wife Maria Shriver out of the picture, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Sources told the Chronicle that Shriver’s face originally appeared on a small lapel pin in the painting. But it’s now apparently covered with a sloppy blue smudge.

The portrait was done by Austrian artist Gottfried Helnwein. Schwarzenegger revealed the portrait Monday, nearly four years after he left office.

Schwarzenegger and Shriver separated when it was revealed in 2010 that he fathered a child out of wedlock with their longtime housekeeper.

Just an absolute boss move here by Ahnuld and the best part is that you know that he did this himself about two hours before the unveiling. Here he goes and gets a fellow Austrian painter named Gottfried, (who by the way, looks like the Chris Gaines version of Bruce Jenner)

to go and do this amazing portrait and about 45 minutes before the press conference unveiling, he sees Maria’s picture on his lapel and the synthetic testosterone starts flaring in his bloodstream. But as opposed to tearing the thing apart like a phone book, he goes to Michael’s and picks up pastels to hastily cover it up. Classic Arnold. And if anyone challenges him on it, I can only hope he goes ham on how stupid their physique is. – @SaintBrendan
